Mitchell, a chemist at the General Foods company looking for a way to make instant carbonated soda (think Coke) by somehow trapping carbon dioxide into candy tablets. But when the instant soda experiment didnโ€™t turn out, the formula was forgotten and put away. Twenty years later, another chemist came across the formula, reworked it a little, and turned it into POP ROCKSยฎ.

Hey all, Will here. Due to medical issues and a surgery scheduled to remove an unwanted organ on Monday, I'm going to hiatus briefly. Just about 3 weeks.

Hopefully I will have the energy and consciousness to try and work on backtags and clear some of that up, but not sure how much energy I'll have for a while. Thanks for understanding.

Everyone is on autopilot. This is for Newt Scamander, Seth Gecko, and Wendy Corduroy.

[A very tired twenty-something Indian male appears on camera. His hair is a mess, disheveled as if from sleep and having shoved his hands through it a few too many times, and his clothes appear to have been slept in. Because they have. Mahir sighs and pushes his glasses up his nose before he addresses the camera.]

Hello. Wonderland, is it? As in Alice and, I presume. Iโ€™m afraid to say that kind of fantasy literature has never been my particular cup of tea. My name is Mahir Gowda. I am the head of the factual news division of the After the End Times news site, although I doubt that means much here. Perhaps itโ€™s a sign of exhaustion, or stress, or my colleagueโ€™s particular brand of insanity has suddenly mutated and become contagious, but if this is a delusion, itโ€™s a very convincing one.

I donโ€™t suppose anyone would be so kind as to point me to a very strong cup of tea? If Iโ€™ve truly been kidnapped to an alternate dimension, I assume that calling my wife is out of the question. If she hasnโ€™t divorced me yet, she certainly will be after this.

...I may need something a bit stronger than tea, on consideration.

Hellooooo, EWay! This is Sara; I play Cissie King-Jones ([personal profile] notarrowette), and now I'm bringing in character number 2!

This is Mahir Gowda, from Mira Grant's Newsflesh series, which, yes, means another zombie blogger. Sorry? But he's one of the nice ones, I swear! He's a professional news journalist (newsie) like Georgia Mason, but... a lot friendlier, and with less of a black-and-white obsession with the TRUTH. He'll even tell white lies to make people feel better, like telling flight attendants that his mother served breakfast for dinner (she did not).

He's also very British, a workaholic, full of sarcasm and dry humor, aaaand basically everyone's dad, even though he would roll his eyes and argue that point (but he'd be wrong). His app is here, for anyone interested! His canon point is juuust at the end of Book III of Deadline, which basically means he's jet lagged, on the run from foreign government conspiracies and has been stuck in a car for like a week. I'll be throwing his intro post up shortly, and making my comment on the CR meme soon too and will link them here when I do.

I'm so excited to have a second character, yay! c: Feel free to add me on plurk at [plurk.com profile] ladysarai if you haven't/want to, and I'm also on Discord at ladysarai#0594. Because my usernames are incredibly creative.

Sup, fellow captives? Name's Claudia.

[ two purple-gloved hands throw up finger guns in front of the camera. claudia's curled red hair is interrupted only by a single strand of white, and her ratty denim vest is covered in an obnoxious amount of flair. anyone versed in teen can probably tell this cool front is pretty forced. ]

So! I did the reading, aced the pop quiz, made frenemies with the magical internet, et cetera et cetera... [ shrug! if she pretends it's no big deal it won't be, right? this is fine everything's fine. ] Who do I talk to about that member's club jacket fitting? Or like, should I expect a card or a button or something? Maybe a secret handshake? Oh, right one other thing-- anyone got a twenty on Alice? Figure it's only polite to introduce myself to the lady of the house, you know?

[ and until then, she'll keep checking mirrors in hopes that this is some weird artifact thing on steroids. as the day wears on, claudia only gets crankier-- she's starting to feel helpless and alone. she can do alone, she just-- well she thought she didn't have to anymore. ]
14 August 2017 @ 03:21 pm
hey hey! this is rin (ray palmer) adding another nerd to the ranks.

this is claudia donovan, from the syfy show warehouse 13 -- she's a punk teen from a world of magic who works for an organization that keeps track of powerful items across the globe. she's tough and spiky on the outside with a sweet gooey candy center.

her touchstones include tinkering with steampunky gadgets, copious eye rolling, dressing like she survived employment at a horror-themed applebees, shredding on guitar, and forming deep bonds with anyone who speaks fluent sarcasm.

her app and permissions and sundry are linked at the front of her journal -- hit me up if you have questions / wanna chat anything out prior to hitting her up <333
14 August 2017 @ 05:44 pm
According to Doctor Palmer, I need to make friends.

( Though her tone may indicate that she doesn't believe this. She has people, and also hasn't ever really made a 'friend' before. It's not that important, right? #obliviousandroid )

Though it's possible that he didn't consider the request prior to making it.

It leads me to at least posing the question which he declined to answer.

( An incredibly serious question )

What would be the recommended paint for a wall?

( I mean it was said as if it was a serious question. It is important information )

THE TIME HAS COME! everybody duked it out this weekend but there can only be one champion of THE TURNING!!!!! and that champion is... drrrrrrumroll please.........

HENRY! *applause* henry miller proved that underdogs can still win shit even if they've up against some of the seriously most incredible arcade gamers i've ever seen! (haven't seen many tho to be fair).

so henry! come on down to the kitchen for your reward! and anybody else can come to because maybe he'll want to share. up to him. :P

thanks everybody who played and stay tuned for the next big competition! ELLIE OUT

[ In the kitchen, as promised, are cupcakes that spell out the word "CONGRATS!" All the cupcakes are lit and so it's probably a relative fire hazard. The cupcake decor - as Ellie will explain - is because Henry is obviously a wizard (or some shit).

There is also an additional prize for Henry that is just for him, which she keeps stuffed in her pocket. ]

Hello, everybody! I'm Ree and I'm bringing in my second character here (my other is Bucky). Alex is the eight year old son of Evelyn and Rick from the Mummy films. He's super smart, adventurous, and curious - all of which gets him into some crazy situations. He'll be coming in from right at the end of the second movie, on the airship, and will be looking for his parents and uncle. I put up his network post, which is linked below.

I can be found on plurk @ [plurk.com profile] barebone or discord @ commontypes#9719.

Some links:

Network Post | Information | Prefs | IC Contact

I can't wait to get started with him! PS: I'm super flexible and open to plotting with any and all characters. If there's something you're interested in, let me know and we can make it happen.
14 August 2017 @ 10:36 am
[Alex had fallen asleep on the airship, curled up at the back and tucked between his Mom and Dad - Uncle Jon snoring somewhere by his feet. The sun had just set over a sandy horizon and Izzy had them on a smooth course back home, relatively smooth anyway. He can't help that it'd only been minutes after sitting down that he'd gone to sleep, the last few days had been tiring and he was comfortable settled in the middle of his family. It had been nice. Which makes the sudden transition from comfortably sprawled across two adults to falling into water that much more jarring.

He surfaces, gasping for air and flailing for a few moments before realizing that he's not far from a beach. He swims until he can stand and then he hits his knees, catching his breath. From here, he doesn't recognize anything. The sky above or the ground below and when he calls out for his parents, for his uncle, nobody answers him. Concern lodges in his throat, shoulders hunching up around his ears as water laps over the backs of his shoes. There's a dock with a few small boats nearby, palm trees, beach chairs, and umbrellas bigger than him stuck into the ground. That, as quickly as fear had swept through him, just as swiftly puts him a little bit at ease. There are people here. Somewhere. All he has to do is find them. Standing, he kicks off his shoes and dumps the water out of them, leaving them on the beach. The further he walks, the more he can see - an orchard to his right and a big house to the north. His parents are probably there and, even though something doesn't seem right, they can explain what's going on. Then they can go home. ( He hasn't been to the museum in ages and there's a new exhibit he wants to see. ) There's nobody outside but he knocks, then pushes it open because he's eight, for Christ's sake and he can't be blamed for forgetting his manners in an emergency.]

Mom? Dad? [A pause.] Uncle Jon? This isn't funny.

[He slips as he walks inside, eyes wide and mouth falling open as he stares up at the skylight. Alex doesn't move from that spot, not at first, head tipped back in awe, and when he does speak, it's a soft sound. Barely even a audible as he glances around.]

[Alex has never used a phone before but after opening a few doors and looking around, he finds a seat and plays with it. He hits enough buttons that, on his eighth or ninth try, he's able to post to all of Wonderland.]

I'm looking for my parents, my Mom and Dad. My Uncle Jon, too. [There's a rustling sound as he drops and picks the phone back up, mumbling under his breath that the sucker weighs a goddang ton.] And Izzy. I was just with them and now I'm here.

Yeah, yeah, I already heard the part where this place is like something out of Carroll's book, but that's crazy.

[He's read the story, but it's only a story right? But then, he's seen a mummy come back to life so maybe it isn't that crazy. The pamphlet, which is now folded and tucked into his jacket pocket, had been helpful - the author's name had been skipped in his rush to read it.]

If anyone can help me, I'm sure my parents will be grateful to have me back.

[His voice fades out then comes back in louder than before.]

Oh, I'm Alex. Alex O'Connell.

[The feed ends after a few minutes of silence.]

[Everyone's memories were so intriguing. It was kind of nice to get a glimpse into each world, though at some expense great or small, whatever that expense was. Minato thought he wouldn't have the opportunity to visit all of the worlds out there, so he did have to thank Wonderland for giving him that chance. Maybe one positive out of being here was that for all the events, if some individuals didn't remember something from it, then there had to be someone else who would.

It did give him an idea too, a small one that he could work with. He just wanted to give it a try, to see if he could also get reacquainted with his own Personas that he didn't have with him now. The most important reason though was to see if he could try to know more people too, as if too to make up for the Social Links, relationships with people that he should have here. It'd be a good test for him.

His current backdrop were the stacks in the Library as he sat at a table with books all around, those that were open displaying pictures of mythological deities and supernatural creatures, maybe a few historical figures as well.]

Use three words to describe yourself, and I'll try to match you with a Persona.
12 August 2017 @ 10:23 pm
(He wants to vent; to expound upon his feelings about the sheer madness of Wonderland, but really, everyone is likely sick to death of it. Disorder has that effect on people and so, instead, the little Earl seeks to impose order. Of course the entire enterprise might be ripped to shreds by chaos, but he is hardly the sort to lay down and let the world walk all over him.)

Might I make a suggestion that we stockpile our weapons and keep a running checklist of what we have? An armory would be the best option for such a task, but each resident is entitled to their own tools of defense. Wonderland hardly gives us any warning when it strikes.

(So he must rely on the unreliable.)

Can I trust everyone to be honest about your ammunitions? Your guns, your knives, your swords and so forth? Furthermore, those who possess some skill in defensive arts, can you please speak up?

Privacy is not a luxury we can afford.
